Chris would also like to welcome all to his website, one in which you'll be introduced to variety of his works that range from the humorous to the highly dramatic. He's been well known for more than 35 years for his brilliance in the Advertising, Entertainment and Publishing industries with award winning pieces highlighted in book cover, billboard and poster form. Chris has experienced a lifetime of dreams, one in which he has become noted for his versatility and ability to work in multiple styles--oils, pen and ink, or a mixture of mediums--but more so in Paper Sculpture, a style he has mastered beyond the realm of others. After perusing the site, you'll soon see that he has no fear of subject matter. If anything, it excites him to delve into any new challenge and he does so throught a willingness to extend the boundaries of lighting, color, depth and dimension to create something special, evident by the western, wildlife, childrens, and zodiac pieces of true art he has created.
Chris is now proud and thrilled to be able to make his art available to the public. Through this site you can make a purchase ranging from a high-end print on archival paper or canvas--to a decorative free standing tile--or, if preferred, a simple keepsake, such as a coffee mug or magnet. He feels that it's important to keep one's budget in mind, strictly so the consumer is given the opportunity to enjoy the artwork as much as he did while producing it. (Note: Some originals are available for purchase. If you should have an interest, please contact Chris with a note on the contact page. He'll then personally be in touch to explain further details, such as the dimensions, shipping preference, history of the piece and, of course, the price.)
Chris's quote of the month:
"Give all elements in an image life through gesture, of which they all have--even down to the slightest detail--such as leaves, hair, and clothing. One can then even go further by being bold and offering a hint that--say, there's a puff of a breeze present. You'll then soon be surprised by how much character it can bring to a piece."
The most recent burning question asked:
Word has it that Chris posted scores near (or if not at) the bottom of the class in Art History while attending college. Is this TRUE or FALSE?"---source unknown.
(The answer is now posted and can be found by using the Q & A button on the sidebar to your left.)
The next burning question asked:
One can't help but notice that the horse is a favorite subject matter in a lot of Chris's works. Does he ever ride for pure pleasure?--Jan, in Elks, Nevada.
(The answer will be posted no later than the twenty-third of May.)
Upcoming Events:
Chris, just last year in June, had a highly successful one-man-show at the Old Fire House Art Gallery in Longmont, CO, which showcased well over 50 of his original pieces. He has since been asked when another show will take place and one has been scheduled. It will be held this coming December and running through approximately February, along with three other very capable artists at the Creative Framing and Art Gallery in Louisville, CO. Additional details will be posted as soon as they become available.
